Why do off road R/C models use 2 stroke engines instead of 4 stroke engines like their Airplane counterparts?
You can do so much more with 4 stroke engines technology than 2 stroke and hobby related companies like Traxxas, NovaRossi, OS et el spend big R&D dollars trying to improve the efficiency and timing and porting shape/size of 2 stroke Nitro model engines,
They would be too big for all but the largest models. Also it would cost alot more for R&D. Also the powerband is different between 2 and 4 stroke nitros. Some people have adapted 4 strokes and rotary engines into car applications so if that's what
