Serpentine Belt Problems on 2008 328 xi?
I've been away for 6 months and my 2008 BMW 328 xi has been sitting in the garage. Yesterday, I drove it to the store with no problem. Today, on my way home from running an errand, the battery light appeared and then the power steering went. The tow truck
No it is not a serious problem. It is the equivalent to a "fan belt". Why it broke is another issue, either an accessory is frozen from not being driven often and the belt was stuck and burned through or something is out of alignment.
